Navigating Complexity for Technical Leaders
A two day course that integrates complexity science and systems engineering with business architecture concepts. The course teaches decision making in complex sociotechnical environments and covers business and operating model design and guides successful collaboration with solution architects and agile development teams. 

 The modern world is becoming ever more complex and interconnected. Modern business initiatives are impacted both by this growing complexity and the need to be able to respond with technical implementations on which they are dependent. This puts great demands on anyone tasked with realizing these initiatives. It is important to develop strategies and techniques for navigating this complexity and understanding the balance between complexity, reality, and engineering. Managing this balance is key to success.

 Based on the successful course for solution architects “Antifragile Architecture” this course gives business architects, project managers, enterprise architects, CTO’s, and business leaders the tools to understand and successfully manage business complexity in engineering projects.

Barry O’Reilly


Barry O’Reilly is the founder of Black Tulip Technology and creator of ”Antifragile System Design”. He has held Chief Architect roles at Microsoft and IDesign, been Microsoft’s IOT TAP Lead for Western Europe, and Worldwide Lead for Microsoft’s Solution Architecture Community. He has also been a startup CTO, and was a founder of Sweden’s Azure User Group.
