Improve your ability to deliver architecture
Certifiering

The course is conducted together with our partner Black Tulip Technology.

Practical information

Certified Advanced Software Architect involves three meetings spread over four months that allow you to prepare your material for certification.  The specific dates and times are scheduled after registration in agreement between the participant and the course leader.

The certification process will consist of the following stages:

Preparation Stage

In this stage candidates will apply to the certification program. All three courses must be completed before the certification module start date.

The application of the theories and complexity from the three compulsory courses is to be proven with practical work through a complex project during the certification program.

About Archstream

Each candidate will be given access to a private blog where their work will be carried out and communication with the certification board will take place. Their private blog will form an ArchStream, a series of reflections and exercises across the certification process that will be the primary method of delivering exercises.

Each candidate must actively be working in an architectural role in a live project for the duration of the certification module.

Application process

Please note that the program is only intended for architects who are already practicing architectures in their fields. After registration is made for the certification program, each candidate will receive and do a pre-course assessment, where they describe their proposed project of choice that will be used throughout the program.

The project must demonstrate sufficiently complex to require advanced architectural skills.  After the Certification Board has reviewed your project description, the candidate will either be accepted into the certification program or provided with feedback if the project does not meet the required standards.  If the Board does not find the project suitable the participant will receive feedback and the opportunity for clarification and refine their project proposal.

Applicants may enroll in the program jointly with colleagues as a defined cohort. In such cases, the instructional components of the program are delivered collectively, while each participant independently develops, documents, and submits an individual project for assessment. This structure enables intellectual exchange, critical peer dialogue, and organizational coherence, while preserving individual academic responsibility and ensuring that all certification requirements are fulfilled on an individual basis.

Certification Criteria

To be eligible for certification, candidates must attend all course sessions and fulfill the following requirements:

1. Present a sufficiently complex architecture for consideration (pre-course assessment)

2. Consistently complete all weekly updates, readings, and deliverables in the ArchStream, ensuring they meet a high standard of quality.

3. Deliver a well-structured and coherent presentation on the success or challenges of their architectural project, effectively articulating key insights and lessons learned.

4. Successfully deliver the architecture to the customer or organization. This will be validated through direct feedback from at least one member of the project committee, steering group, or leadership team.

  • The certification will state that:
  • The candidate has taken all three courses
  • The candidate has shown that they can deliver the needed artifacts to. High level of satisfaction
  • The candidate has shown the capacity to learn and grow through the delivery of an architecture
